Abstract

In this paper, a novel dual-band substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) filter with perturbed circular cavity is presented. By introducing a pair of metallic via perturbations combining different angle of feeding lines, five resonant modes TM 110 (a pair of degenerate modes), TM 210 (a pair of degenerate modes) and TM 020 are perturbed to design the proposed filter. Two types of slotlines are introduced to cavity for tuning the resonant modes. Thus, a dual-band filter with two transmission poles in the first passband and three transmission poles in the second passband is realized in a single circular cavity. The experimental result shows that the center frequencies of the dual-band filter are 42.7 and 60 GHz, and the 3-dB FBWs are 6.6% and 7.8%, respectively. The measured minimum in-band insertion losses are around 1 and 1.88 dB, and the passband return losses are above 19.6 and 11 dB.
