Abstract

A 53-year-old woman was referred to our institution for evaluation of proteinuria. Her medical history was marked by recent onset of hypertension and dyslipidemia. Medications included telmisartan, 80mg daily; furosemide, 80mg daily; and rosuvastatin, 20mg daily. She had a familial history of kidney disease: her mother and maternal grandmother had had end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and her sister experienced decreased kidney function and nephrotic-range proteinuria.
