Abstract
The synthesis of different porous silicate phases is demonstrated with quinuclidine (1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]octane) and the template 3-azabicyclo[3.2.2]nonane. Although the geometric and chemical properties of the two template molecules are closely related, different porosil phases are formed under similar reaction conditions. Both template molecules form the porous phases deca-dodecasile 3R (structure type code: DDR), dodecasile 1H (DOH), sigma-2 (SGT) and levyne (LEV). In addition, quinuclidine forms ZSM-12 (MTW) whereas azabicyclononane forms another, so far unknown, silica phase to which the laboratory code RUB-4 is assigned.
