Abstract

ObjectiveNeonatal herpes simple virus (HSV) keratitis, relatively uncommon are associated with significant morbidity. Case reportThe case is presented of a newborn girl who developed herpes simplex virus (HSV) keratoconjunctivitis, despite a vaginal delivery, and the absence of medical history or active clinical maternal HSV infection. Diagnosis relies on a high level of clinical suspicion and the use of diagnostic tests.
