Abstract

70 ZREE N°5/2018 DOSSIER 1 LE STOCKAGE PAR BATTERIES DANS LES RESEAUX ELECTRIQUES Marion Perrin OSCARLAB Jerome Bersano SNAM Batteries become cheaper and cheaper, but they are still not economically perti- nent in many applications when considering a unique functionality. Nevertheless, the residential storage market is experimenting a rapid growth, thus demonstra- ting that the investment in a battery in order to increase the self-consumption of photovoltaic energy is not only driven by economical motivation. In addition, with growing electric vehicle number on our roads, we face the opportunity of getting almost free storage for residential use. Indeed, these cars can act both as flexible loads in order to increase the local use of locally pro- duced energy, and as mobile storage that can be discharged in the house or the grid provided the car manufacturers opt for bidirectional chargers. And as these car batteries are showing excellent longevity in the mobile appli- cation, they promise to be able to experience a second life in stationary applica- tion with excellent performance a long time after the car that first hosted them is no longer in operation. Finally, the develo
