Abstract

Liquid biopsy was a science-fiction concept until recently and became step by step a routine tool in thoracic oncology. The “liquid biopsy” gathers different concepts such as circulating tumor cells, circulating tumor DNA or RNA. Interest and perspective of each are different.This literature review aims to better clarify the liquid biopsy concept for the clinician, to address the current main indications in routine, and to assess its potential perspectives.
