Abstract

In analogy to the core-quasiparticle coupling model used for investigation of the structure of odd-A nuclei a new way of description of odd-odd nuclei is presented being based on a symmetrical coupling of the two odd particles to the four neighboring even-even cores. The key feature of the model is an introduction of new objects: the quasiparticle pairs which are not systems of two independent quasiparticles. A method of selecting the physical solutions of the model is presented.
