Abstract

Temporal Normalised Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) values derived from NOAA AVHRR HRPT data were calculated to form decadal (10-days) aggregates and correlated with seasonal vegetation conditions, particularly during the growing seasons for wheat and cotton in three selected districts of Sindh province. Based upon this correlation, it was possible to determine different stages of crop growth using rates of change of NDVI. NDVI values were significantly correlated with the accumulated daily mean day time temperature during both Rabi and Kharif seasons for wheat and cotton crop respectively.
