Abstract

In the isotachophoresis process, an electrolyte consisting of n types of anions and one cation is placed in a constant exterior electric field. Under the action of this field, the ions start moving. Under specific conditions, the anions concentrate in one plane, enabling us to separate an ion mixture. Such a method is widely used to separate mixtures of proteins~ nucleotides, peptides, and, generally, arbitrary ions of one sign.
