Abstract
A theorem is formulated for constructing quasienergy states for the problem of a Bloch electron in a constant electric field. It is shown that time-dependent solutions of the problem can also be made to be eigenstates of the commuting electric and time translations. The latter define the period of the quasienergy states. The Wannier - Stark ladders and the Bloch oscillations are considered in the framework of the quasienergy states.
