Abstract

Quasi-elastic scattering measurements at large backward angles have been carried out for the $^{6}\mathrm{Li}+^{232}\mathrm{Th}$ system at energies around the Coulomb barrier. Barrier distribution has been obtained from the excitation function data. Coupled channel calculations using a double-folding potential as the bare potential have been performed. The disagreement between data and theoretical predictions shows a large breakup effect in the quasi-elastic scattering of a weakly bound projectile on a deformed target.
