Abstract

In this paper, nonlinear conversion in a wide optical region, from VUV to THz-wave is investigated. Many techniques of generating such special wavelengths have been developed. To achieve efficient frequency conversion high power laser with good beam quality is required. Narrow linewidth is often needed. The master-oscillator power-amplifier (MOPA) is significant technique to achieve good beam quality and high power at the same time. In this study, a quasiCW laser diode (QCW-LD) pumped Nd:YAG MOPA system is developed to obtain single frequency pulses with high energy and high averaged power. The laser operated in single frequency, single transversal mode with the energy and the repetition rate of 22 mJ/pulse and 400 Hz, respectively.
