Abstract

Lasers based on stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) of light in crystals (Raman lasers) are promising sources of radiation in wide spectral region. Using such lasers, an efficient quasi-continuous wave (quasi-CW) laser system generating multi-wavelength radiation is developed. Laser system is based on a quasi-CW nanosecond lamp-pumped Nd:YAG laser with acousto-optic Q-switching, Raman lasers on barium nitrate and KGW crystals and nonlinear crystal optical converters. Pulse repetition rate of the system is equal to 1 or 4 kHz. Raman lasers are excited with the focused radiation at 532 nm or 1064 nm using the two-pass pumping scheme. Thermal lens induced in the crystals due to SRS is diminished substantially by applying concave spherical mirrors of Raman laser resonator and efficient heat removal.
