Abstract

The anomalies associated with the 12 May, 2008 Ms8.0 Wenchuan earthquake have been widely reported. Nevertheless, so far, these anomalies have not been synergically analyzed to interpret or prove the potential geosphere physical coupling process. Moreover, the 14 April, 2010 Ms7.1 Yushu earthquake with similar active tectonic background is less studied. In this paper, we present a reanalysis of the groundwater temperature and radon measurements from the same stations for both the Wenchuan and Yushu earthquakes. Finnaly, a statistical analysis on published literatures and our reanalysis, reveals quasi-synchronous multi-parameter anomalies from all Earth spheres of lithosphere, coversphere, atmosphere and ionosphere, within a quasi-synchronous time window of five and seven days before the Wenchuan and Yushu earthquakes respectively. The p -hole theory is expected to explain why anomalies travel so fast between different Earth spheres.
