Abstract

In this letter, we present a new absorptive bandstop filter topology that is capable of operating in the microwave regime (C-Band) and is capable of creating large attenuation using resonators which are comprised of printed circuit elements and surface mount elements. This particular topology allows for a high level of miniaturization when compared to transmission line realizations. Simulated and measured results are presented and show good correlation. We demonstrate a prototype absorptive bandstop filter that operates within the C-band, achieves > 50 dB of rejection, and has a total size of 7 mm × 8.2 mm.
