Abstract
The technique of semiclassical approach is extended to deal with the correlation functions in a sine-Gordon system and a ${\ensuremath{\varphi}}^{4}$ system in the 1 + 1 dimension. The present analysis justifies, to a large extent, the results obtained within the ideal-gas phenomenology. The role of breathers in the sine-Gordon system is clarified.
