Abstract
We show that low-field semiclassical size-effect experiments can be interpreted in terms of a resonance in the quantum-mechanical magnetoconductivity tensor $\ensuremath{\sigma}(q,{q}^{\ensuremath{'}})$ for a finite sample. The low-field oscillations are shown to occur when electrons at the surface scatter into adjacent Landau orbits.
