Abstract

In the general case it can be shown that there are no additive quantum numbers for the nucleon-antinucleonpion system in addition to I, I/sub 3/, and K/ sub 3/ which are strictly conserved (if one accepts the usual chargeindependent PS(PS) or PS(PV) interaction). It is emphasized that even within the framework of chargeindependent interactions, not all final states are necessarily equivalent, and the additlonal quantum numbers labeling these states may be sufficiently well conserved.
