Abstract

The quantum-mechanical representation of nonlinear filtering and stochastic optimal control is investigated. By introducing wave functions which give the connections between the nonlinear filtering equation and the dynamic programming equation, two versions of quantum-mechanical wave equations called the Schrödinger-Langevin and the Itô-Schrödinger equations are derived. Furthermore, the probabilistic interpretation of the wave functions is discussed.
