Abstract

Polymer films placed on solar cells contained quantum cutting phosphor were prepared by spin-coating technique. Ce3+-Yb3+ co-doped YAG phosphor was uniformly mixed into polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA) matrix and formed into films on glass or solar cell surface. Transmissivity of glass with PMMA films show that the films has high transparency. Reflectivity of solar cells with PMMA films is lower than the bare solar cells in the whole wavelength range, especially in the range of short wavelength. Compared with bare solar cell, both quantum efficiency (QE) and conversion efficiency of the solar cell with PMMA film are increased.
