Abstract

Quantum aspects of the interactions between the high‐intensity laser and electron plasma has been studied from the point of view of coherent‐state formalism In this paper, I offer a sound theoretical foundation based on quantum‐mechanical and coherent‐state‐formalism for analyzing the interactions between the high‐intensity laser and electron plasma in a many electron system. Using first the Two Times Green Function method, I derived a quantum theory for a free electron laser when the laser intensity is not very high. Then, the dispersion relation for the free electron high‐intensity laser can be formulated using the classical laser field. To provide the sound foundation using the classical field, I discuss the coherent‐photon state. For analyzing many electron systems, I describe the use of the atomic‐coherent state, which provide proper description of the superradiant transition , the atomic laser, and the production of positrons by a very strong laser.
