Abstract
Rotational rainbows in the collision Xe+${\mathrm{CO}}_{2}$ are analyzed using quantum and classical two-dimensional models. We discuss the effect of the single- and the multiple-collision rotational rainbows on the differential cross sections, both for the fixed transitions and varying scattering angle and for the fixed scattering angle and varying transitions. A comparision is made with the existing centrifugal sudden calculations for this system.
