Abstract

In order to reasonably and quantitatively assess the performance of the train communication network under multi-factors and multi-services, this paper chooses the network time delay, bandwidth and packet loss rate as the indicators of network performance. In this paper, services in the train communication network have been divided into six classes according to their characteristics and interoperability. This paper proposes utility functions model to describe the performance of each selected indicators under different services and then applies the model to evaluate the performance of each service and the train communication network. Finally, using the measured data, it turns out that utility functions can be effectively used to evaluate the quality of services and the performance of the network.
