Abstract

We have investigated the nonlinear Faraday effect near the D 2-line of cesium vapour excited by a single-mode laser. The dependence of the rotation angle on laser power, laser frequency and magnetic field was measured, and, for the first time compared with different theoretical models on an absolute scale.
