Abstract

Traditional methodologies for verifying the acoustic parameters of performing arts facilities involve the use of draperies, panels, or reverberation chambers to increase or decrease the average alpha (α). This paper discusses the latest advances in an alternate method of changing the acoustic character of a performance hall with Electronic Architecture or ERESTM. Emphasis will be on field measurements taken of system performance using both traditional methods (RT, C80, D40, LE, etc.) as well as new binaural measurements using the Aachen Head and BAS analysis systems.
