Abstract

Introduction: Major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) are a significant cause of mortality in end stage renal disease (ESRD) patients. High-risk plaque anatomy may contribute to this population’s high incidence of MACE. However, the atherosclerotic characteristics in these patients has not been previously described. We thus sought to clarify atherosclerotic plaque characteristics (APC) in dialysis dependent ESRD patients.
