Abstract

This work presents an innovative approach to understanding the effect of nanowires on breast cancer cells both qualitatively and quantitatively through impedance spectroscopy. Unlike previous studies that have used qualitative, endpoint assays, such as the Alamar blue viability assay, this technique enables observations in real-time. Preliminary results have established that different concentrations of nanowires (0, 1, 50, and 100μg/mL) in culture solution can be differentiated using this technique. This paper studies the effect of nanowire concentrations on cancer cell morphology, spreading, and adhesion.
