Abstract

1. 1. Rabbit antisera against purified serum albumin of Spermophilus tridecemlineatus, Spermophilus lateralis, Ammospermophilus nelsoni, Eutamias amoenus, and Sciurus niger were used to probe relationships within the Sciuridae. 2. 2. Quantitative micro-complement fixation tests indicated that ground squirrel ( Spermophilus and Ammospermophilus) and chipmunk ( Eutamias) albumins were more similar to one another than any were to tree squirrel ( Sciurus) albumins. 3. 3. Spermophilus tridecemlineatus appears more distantly related to other Spermophilus than are Ammospermophilus, Marmota, and Eutamias.
