Abstract
WHEN measuring α-emitting nuclides the preparation of the radioactive material as a thin uniform layer is an essential if poor resolution, due to self-absorption, is to be avoided1. Also, when such measurements are the concluding stage in the analysis of thorium and uranium, it is desirable that the method of preparation is quantitative.
