Abstract

A method for the simultaneous determination of trace elements in Indian coals by differential pulse polarography has been described, which is capable of measuring Cu, Cd, Ni and Zn in the electrolyte 0.5 M NH 4 OH + 0.1 M ( NH 4) 2 CO 3 + 1.5 M NH 4 Cl + 0.005% gelatin + 5% saturated Na 2SO 3 at pH 10 ± 0.1. The method has been checked by analysing a standard reference material NBS-1632b.
