Abstract

A reverse phase, high performance liquid chromatbgraphy procedure for the quantification of indole-3 carboxyaldehyde in aqueous extracts of cotton bract is described. The amount of indole-3 carboxyaldehyde that could be extracted by water was 14.3 and 14.1 ppm in frost-killed (brown) and air dried green cotton bract, respectively.
