Abstract

AbstractA method is described for the analysis of gold ore in the ppm range using energy‐dispersive XRF spectrometry. Ore is digested in aqua regia and gold is separated by coprecipitation with tellurium, followed by solvent extraction into isobutyl methyl ketone (IBMK). The recovery of gold is better than 98% and the detection limit is 0.1 μg of gold.
