Abstract

Ecological carrying capacity indexes of Hegang of Heilongjiang province, Naiman country of Inner Mongolia and Luzhou of Sichuan province are calculated respectively by the comprehensive assessment based on AHP and the ecological footprint model. The results show that the CCPS is below 1 before and after the three regional planning, and the regions have room for development; there are still some constraints: ecological flexibility of Naiman country index is low; environmental carrying capacity of Hegang is low; the ecological footprint suppling level of Hegang and Naiman are high, the supplies of per capita ecological footprint of Hegang and Naiman are about 2.5 ha, and the supply of Luzhou is about 0.508 ha. Two quantitative models of ecological carrying capacity could be combined and calculated in the regional and strategic environmental impact assessment. They will provide effective theoretical foundation and technical support for the region's sustainable development.
