Abstract

The self-consistent renormalization (SCR) theory of spin fluctuations in itinerant electron antiferromagnets is formulated in a rotationally invariant way with four independent parameters associated with the band structure and the exchange enhancement factor. Various physical quantities are expressed in terms of these parameters and possible quantitative comparisons with experiment are discussed. Numerical calculations for some typical examples are performed for the temperature dependences of the staggered magnetic susceptibility above T N and the staggered magnetization below T N .
