Abstract

Characterizing the pixel relationship in image has been a basic issue in image reconstruction and processing. Quantitative assessments on spatial correlation of X-ray CT and MR images are presented in this paper. In image domain, X-ray CT and MR images is proved to be asymptotically independent, and a unified formula for the magnitude of correlation coefficient of pixels in these images is given. In spectrum domain, autocorrelation function (acf) and spectral density function (sdf) of X-ray CT and MR images are derived and have been verified by the results obtained from large number of real, experimental MR data.
