Abstract

ABSTRACT It is difficult on a practical point of view to quantify the parameters able to suitably describe the thixotropic behaviour of cementitious materials. We present in this paper a very simple model that is able to describe the diversity of the possible thixotropic behaviours for several flow typologies. We then present a practical technique to identify the model parameters (the double inclined plane). Finally, we apply the model to several physical phenomena that occur through casting such as segregation, formwork pressure…
