Abstract
Background: QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus (QFT) (Qiagen) is an indicator of cell-mediated immune response to Mycobacterium tuberculosis specific antigens. The antigen tubes TB1 and TB2 elicits CD4+ T cell response but TB2 has an additional set of peptides which elicits CD8+ T cell response. A sample is positive if either TB1 or TB2 is interpreted as positive. We analysed TB1 and TB2 IFN-γ levels to determine if TB2 (with nil and mitogen tubes) will suffice.
