Abstract

AbstractOils were extracted experimentally by direct solvent and prepress solvent processes from saw delintered cottonseed as well as from some of the same seed delintered with dilute sulfuric acid. Oils were refined, bleached and deodorized. Deodorized oils were stored in an air oven at 60 C for 30–35 days. Approximately twice a week, stored samples were analyzed for peroxide value. No significant differences in rate of increase of peroxide value were found among the oils.
