Abstract
The article substantiates the need to assess the effectiveness of the public administration system in terms of its ability to ensure an adequate quality of life for the country's citizens. Based on a critical analysis of the main approaches to assessing the quality of public administration, the results of applying the index method and describes individual indices that allow assessing the efficiency and socio-economic orientation of public administration are given. The main methodological tasks are identified, the solution of which will allow to achieve maximum efficiency of the integrated indicator of quality of life. A conclusion is made about the importance of proper selection of indicators and formation of a sufficient and complete system of indicators for the evaluation procedure, with the aim of competent solution of management tasks.
