Abstract

The article shows that, when determining the strategic development goals, almost all modern concepts of social development use the notion of "quality of life", the semantic meaning of which has not yet been finally established. Quality of life is a concept used in sociology, economics, politics, healthcare and some other areas of science and practice, which means an assessment of a certain set of conditions and characteristics of a person’s life, as well as the degree of person’s satisfaction with these conditions and characteristics. The author demonstrates that this notion is quite broad, since it involves taking into account the influence of a number of objective and subjective factors, among which the most important are: material security (standard of living), life expectancy, health status, and living conditions (environment, social environment, nutrition, the degree of satisfaction of cultural and spiritual needs, psychological and domestic comfort).
