Abstract

Wireless networks are becoming more popular and increasingly used. Free Wi-Fi network or HotSpot can be found practically at every step. Moreover, it is also important to provide a good quality of data transmission. The aim of this paper is to use mathematical method to define the quality of data transmission for a specific measurement from an access point, and thus for entire network or selected area. By using this method, the value of quality of data transmission is rapidly obtained. This value is the result, which defines the level of quality of data transmission provided by the network. In addition, the method returns values of factors that determine which parameters had the greatest impact on the result. The data and results were analyzed and the conclusions with future plans for extending the proposed method were presented.
