JONES Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies and Associate Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice, Temple University. For more than ten years he co-directed Pro DES, an outcome-based information system that monitors and evaluates over one hundred treatment programs for delinquent youth in Philadelphia. Pro DES received a ‘Best Practices Award’ from the American Correctional Association and was finalist in the ‘Innovations in American Government Awards Program’ administered by the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. His current research interests include community-based corrections, pretrial decision-making, policing and research methods — including evaluability assessments, information systems, risk prediction and offender classification. He is co-author of the book Personal Liberty and Community Safety: Pretrial Release in the Criminal Courts (Plenum), and his most recent work has appeared in Criminology, The Prison Journal, Criminal Justice and Behavior, the Journal of Quantitative Criminology and the Journal of Criminal Justice Education.Search for more papers by this author PETER R.
