Quality ILL Service in the Network of CSIC Libraries: Five Years of Progress

Abstract

Spanish library development came late. Once the large automation projects were initiated, one of the greatest challenges was, undoubdtedly, the development of services. In the past, services were very neglected, since the greater effort went into processing and maintaining the libraries' collections. This was especially true for interlibrary loan service whose previous existence was purely anecdotal. The recent development has resulted from a clear determination on the part of library professionnals, who have designed specific plans and put into motion policies for interlibrary cooperation. Nevertheless, there are still many problems to resolve. CSIC library Network has developed a plan for improving its services
