Abstract
Quality is that which makes a thing what it is; grade of goodness, excellence profession, manner, skill and accomplishment. Total quality refers to a work ethos according to which continuous efforts are made to perform all aspects of one's work better. In other words, quality means degree or level of excellence. Indeed, quality cannot be measured and limited to the above parameters; quality is something beyond the defned parameters. In the present context, the crises of closing down of sixty-five management institutions are challenge to professional education system. It reflects the gap and throws challenge for sustenance of B-schools in the country. This paper attempts to identify the quality gaps in institutes of management studies, which offer MBA/PG Diplomas/IMBA and BBA. After identifying the quality gaps of the institutions, the desired improvement areas will suggested with a model. The followings are certain areas where the lapses are reflected. Quality intake, faculty student ratio, promotion of research activities, industry exposure and students’ participation in consultancy work will enhance the quality of education.
