This work presents the appraoch of the Volkswagen Group IT to handle this topic by offering a self-service with a set of indicators for the evaluation of FOSS. The work presents the way from ideation around the current state, find an adequate solution approach, derive indicators which can be scaled in large organisations, build a useful solution and establish this self-service from the perspective of a service developement initiated by the FOSS governanace and the FOSS “using” community within the Group IT.KeywordsFOSS evaluationFOSS assessmentAutomated evaluationFOSS complianceLarge-scaling agileQuality Management (QM)FOSS governanceSustainable SW
