Abstract
AbstractThis chapter describes the legal framework and the situation of quality assurance and food safety in Albania. The account includes an analysis of the evolution of the system during the transition period, and a description of the present legal and institutional framework. The results are also included of several studies on the application of food quality and safety systems in Albanian food and beverage enterprises, and of the system of services provided by public and private subjects to implement quality and food safety systems at an enterprise level.
