Abstract

This paper briefly reviews Statistics Sweden's statistical databases with an emphasis on quality issues, the role that metadata play, the documentation system and its ancillary templates. Statistics Sweden's agency-wide policy for quality in surveys is outlined and the main characteristics of the agency-wide quality declarations are cited. The paper concludes with some general statements about metadata: their importance, their uses, and their requirements.
