Qualitative Secondary Analysis: Establishing a theoretical family lifecourse framework

Abstract

Chapter 3 introduces the methodological innovations that characterise our work, and a new theoretical framework that we have developed to make sense of, and explain, our findings. To produce a theoretically grounded exposition of men’s family lives and circumstances, we develop and refine a novel theoretical family lifecourse framework, outlined in this chapter, that supports an intergenerational analysis of the longitudinal dynamics of family lives through poverty. This follows explanation of the methodological approach on which the book is based, a data ethnography utilising methods of Qualitative Secondary Analysis.
