Abstract

Academic marriages are often arranged by publishers for developing multidisciplinary projects with scholars of differing but complementary perspectives. This article documents the arranged marriage by SAGE of two qualitative researchers, Norman Denzin and Yvonna Lincoln, to produce the first Handbook of Qualitative Research and subsequently to edit the journal Qualitative Inquiry. It includes both participants’ reminiscences of the process of deciding to work together on these projects.
