Abstract

The performance of an actively Q-switched Yb:YAG thin disk laser with pulse repetition rates up to 6 kHz, maximum pulse energy of 6.3 mJ and a pulse length of 92 ns are presented. Additionally an alternative pulse generation scheme based on regenerative amplification allowing higher repetition rates and shorter pulses compared to the Q-switched Yb:YAG thin disk laser as well as first results will be described.
